| Hose and Cable Ramps |
Protect large cables and hoses from all types of traffic
HR3, interlocking rubber hose ramps, solve the problem of how to protect large hoses and cables from traffic and allow all types and weights to drive over safely. The hose ramps simply sit on the road surface slowing down all the traffic as they pass over them. Each section snaps into each other using “jigsaw” designed connectors, the male plug snaps securely into the female socket. There are two connectors on each side of the ramp so you can assemble a hose ramp to any length.
It is an important safety feature to have a critical mass using 3 or more sections of HR3 or HR5 to make a stable hose and cable ramp. In some cases it is not necessary to cover the complete roadway, small sections of assembled ramps (3 or more) can be laid inline with the wheels of the oncoming traffic. It is important to use warning signs to warn and make oncoming drivers aware of the hazard.
Each section of the HR3 or HR5 hose and cable ramp has two deep slots. The standard HR3 has 90mm slots and the larger HR5 model has 125mm slots.
For temporary use in a supervised situation hose and cable ramp sections interlock together so they can be simply laid on to the road surface. For heavier traffic volumes or for permanent use there is a bolt down fixing pack available. The zintec steel-fixing clamp allows the plate to be positioned at any point along the leading edges of the hose ramp.
Anchor bolts work in all surfaces, asphalt, concrete or blocks. There’s no marking out, you just drill through the holes in the galvanised fixing plate, hammer the nylon plug in place and tighten the bolts. Security collars are available if you want to make the installed hose and cable ramp tamper proof.
My cable is 50mm in diameter, which cable ramp do I use?
HR3 moulded interlocking sections will take two hoses up to 75mm each.
Can I just lay the HR3 Cable Ramp on the road surface?
Yes, but remember that it takes a critical mass of at least 3 units to be stable on the road surface.
